Parietal peritoneum - layers lining the surface walls 

Visceral peritoneum - layer that covers a larger continuous layer like pleura 

Retroperitoneal - situated outside the peritoneum in contact with body wall 

Intraperitoneal - suspended from the abdo wall by a double layered fold of peritoneum

Intraperitoneal organs Secondary retroperitoneal (lost a mesentery) Primary retroperitoneal (never had a mesentery)
