- Can become dormant or disseminate depending on host immune system
- Risk at extremes of ages + immunocompromised
- 90% of primary infections asymptomatic
- Chronic cough, haemoptysis, weight loss, night sweats
- Reactivation may occur and can spread to loads of places
- Caseous necrosis + granuloma formation
