Indications |
- Osteoporosis
- Paget’s disease

Contra-indications |
- Abnormalities of the oesophagus (eg structure)
- Hypocalcaemia
- Other factors which delay emptying

Side-effects |
- GI disorders
- Joint swelling
- Vertigo
- Osteonecrosis of the (risk factors, malignancy and dental disease)

Antacids: decrease absorption of alendronate |
